The Stray
by Cassie McNair - (Skwerl23)
No one to say ‘I love you’.
No one to show him care.
No one seems to notice
or acknowledge that he’s there.

He doesn’t ask for much,
just the simple peace of mind
that comes with a loving family.
Is everyone so blind

that they can’t see the pain
and suffering he’s endured?
Cold, lonely nights of rain,
desperate pleas that went unheard.

He’s been from home to home,
thrown unwanted to the street.
He has no food or shelter
to block the cold and heat.

Sometimes he’d rather die
than to live another day.
But his broken heart still hopes to find
someone to love The Stray.

I liked the images you protrayed here. The repetitiousness of the title line worked quite well for me. All in all, this is a heartwarming and wonderful tribute to a much-loved pastor. I am certain that he liked it also.
