| Excerpt/Quote From Book | |||||||
| McKnight was shouting angrily at Wonderman. “WHERE WERE YOU? WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO CALL YOU FOR AT LEAST FIFTEEN MINUTES BEFORE YOU RESPONDED!” “WELL, I SAVED WONDERLAND DIDN'T I?” shouted Wonderman. “For like the thousandth time.” McKnight took a deep breath and relaxed his angry. “Listen Wonderman, you’re our only defense when we get attacked. We have nothing else but you. We can't afford for you to be late. Now we have to rebuild the parts of the city the robot has destroyed.” “With Wonderland's technology you guys could rebuild it in no time.” “Look Wonderman, try to focus more on your work. I don't know where you go when you leave the laboratory, but if you want to keep that privilege show up when we need you.” McKnight turned around and began to walk away. He then stopped looked back and said, “We're lucky no one was killed.” He turned his head back forward and continued to walk away. Wonderman walked over to a chair by Bryan’s computer, sat down, and put his hands on his head. Bryan walked to his computer and sat down behind it. He noticed Wonderman sitting next to him. He was excited to finally be able to meet the great Wonderman. “Wonderman!” he called. Wonderman slowly took his hands off his head and looked at Bryan. “Who are you?” he asked. Bryan quickly stood up wiped his hand on his shirt then held it out. “I’m Professor Bryan Simmons, and I’m the guy who’s going to be monitoring you from now on.” Wonderman just stared at him in silence for a moment then spoke sarcastically, “Wow! Another baby sitter.” Bryan pulled his hand back then said. “I guess this isn’t the best time for an introduction.” He began to scrutinize Wonderman. After a minute Wonderman got annoyed of his staring. “What?” He said angrily Bryan got a little frightened by his tone. “You know, you look kind of like that guy from the picture hanging up in Professor McKnight's office.” “You mean Josh Alcrez?” “Yes.” “He was my father.” Williams walked up to them and said. “Wonderman! I see you’ve upset old man McKnight again.” “And I see they’ve finally found you a replacement.” Wonderman replied. “Now if you would excuse me I'll be on my way, this lab is just too stuffy for me.” He stood up, walked over to the opening, and flew away. |
