Houston, TX (PRWEB) September 8, 2008 — Well before today’s giant social networking sites came up, niche networks were already up and running at the beginning of this millennium. One of those networks was Authorzone.com, the first social network for authors, readers and poetry lovers. Today, the network is re-launching its new website after some years of silence.

Authorzone started off as an idea of Solomon Tulbure, a controversial Romanian writer who made many friends and enemies on the Internet with his thousands of comments and posts. Solomon claimed to be part of an age old society in search of the truth and was found death under a Knoxville bridge back in November 2004 after what seemed a suicidal end.

After the death of Authorzone’s founder, the website was left without any support and languished away for a couple a years. Thanks to some dedicated members the author network survived, but hardly grew over the years. The site has now found a new owner and is being re-launched in a new web 2.0 jacket.

Author Zone is primarily constructed as a social network for authors and readers, allowing for publishing short stories, poetry, articles, book reviews and novel excerpts. Readers and writers alike can build a personal profile with their interests, publications, background and connect with like-minded on the website.

To put authors and books in the spotlight, Authorzone displays Featured Authors and Featured books on the homepage and helps upcoming talents to increase their visibility. Furthermore members can post press releases of their latest publications in a special designed category and advertise their work or exchange tips on the forum.

The complexity of today’s media and publishing industry has pushed writers to explore the possibilities of the Internet to gain fame and exposure for literary works. Author zone explores the limits of free exposure for authors online and offers talented writers the tools to make their publications available on a wider scale then traditional media could do.
